An Easter gift

Good afternoon!!!  I have been racking my brain to figure out something to do with an old photo I found of my niece with my parents.  My parents have long been gone and my niece was only 7 when my mom passed.  My niece is now 20!  My how time flies!  Anyway I found this little wallet size picture of her with them and thought I'd give it to her ...but I can't just hand it to her as is!!!  Heck no I have to embellish!!!!  First of all she doesn't scrapbook (shame on her!  heehee) so a 12 x 12 is out.....she lives in an apartment so you can't hang things on the wall so a regular frame is out.  Then a light bulb went off.
I decided to make a 7x7 board with cardboard and card stock...embellish with flowers and swirls and sort of wedge the picture in between some of the embellishments so she could remove it later if she wanted to.  Then I found one of those giant clothespins at Joanns and decided to use it as an easel to display the 7x7.  Here's what it turned out like:
I'm pretty sure she is going to love this.  She will be here for Easter so I will give it to her then.  I can't wait!
Well Happy Easter to you all...enjoy your weekend!  Until next week...............................

EASTER TRIO

I cannot believe that Easter is just a week away!  As I've said before I don't like holidays so close together.  I did take down my St Patty's Day decorations but only brought out a few Easter items to decorate the mantle.  Think I'll focus on Spring instead!
Now as for cards.....got to get these little bunnies in the mail soon!
!st up is a stand up card using the Regal stand up die from Stephanie Barnard from Stamps of Life.  You can get it HEREl  I also used the stamp set and die called bunny2stamp that can be seen HERE  .  The jelly bean paper was from Hobby Lobby.

You can't really tell from the photo but I also used Clear Wink of Stella on the bunny to give him some shimmer!

Next is the card I did using one of the tags from yesterday's post.  Basically a really simple card only adding some buttons and a sentiment. I also made the white bow a bit bigger.
I still had an extra bunny stamped so I sort of C.A.S.E.D. a card originally done by Dawns Stampin Thoughts seen HERE  I really liked her bunny by I don't have that one so mine had to do.  I added sequins instead of a bow though I think the bow may have been a better choice.  Too late now because that glue is not going to let go!  LOL

Well now I'm pretty sure I have all the Easter cards I need so I need to get envelopes addressed!  I'm such a procrastinator ...... I bet I don't get it done til tomorrow!

Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend.  Mine will be busy.....going to check out Celtic Fest at the Sears Center.  It should be fun!!!  Heard there are alot of vendors so my Credit Card is ready!!  heeheehee

Til next time.................................

TAG A BUNNY!

Hi...today is St Patty's day but my family celebrated it on Tues so I could un-decorate and re-decorate for Easter.  I sure don't like these 2 holidays being just a week apart!  I have to get my cards out, mantel decorated, Ham buying, Easter eggs filled for egg hunt whewww...I am going to be busy!  So HAPPY ST PATTY"S DAY to all who are celebrating today but lets move on to EASTER!!

So today I have some tags to share.  I made some for the nursing home to attach to a little treat and some for the grandkids egg hunt that will have little clues written on the back.  These were so simple and I was able to use up some of the card scraps I had.  Tags are a great way to use up those scraps instead of tossing or putting into a bag or box for later use.  (Because you know you'll never use them...only think about it!)  Anyway I'm thinking of taking one of those tags and making it a card front.  I'll post that later with some other Easter Cards.
The Bunny stamp was from Michaels awhile ago in their dollar bin and I fussy cut around it.  I used one of the small green Sizzix steel rule die for the eggs.  I think they're pretty adorable but I'm BIAS!  LOL
Well next time I should have some Easter Cards so until then ..................

More Mini Albums

Good Morning!  Well almost Afternoon...lol.  Well I shared my albums with the ladies group last night and they all like them.  I think the Christmas themed one is going to be a project for us in the near future so I'm going to have to start gathering all those little pieces of paper I have laying around with the measurements.  I know I definitely want to do one using all Graphic 45 Christmas papers so I better start collecting now!
I'm also going to have to start making some of the embellishments every now and then so I have everything ready and maybe it won't take me an entire week to get the next one done!
So first up....here is the boy version of the girl one I posted yesterday, or was it the day before?  Eh  "what ever". ha haha.

I folded this a little different by having the 1st page of the accordion flip up (the Jack page)  Just to change things up a bit.  I haven't yet made the belly band to keep it closed, so I have to work on that.  (not entirly true...1st band didn't fit!  LOL)

Next is the Christmas one and I really do love this book!
I can't wait to make another.
Front ties closed

inside cover both sides next open page on right to the right

page on left has cascading flaps and you flip page on right to the right

middle page are flaps and page on right has a mini book

entire interior of book

Back side of book

pages of book within a book
When you have the book opened you just take the last page and keep folding to the left like your rolling it up then tie it closed.  So cute.  There are little tags in the pockets and you can add as many as you want and then there are still areas for some photos which could also be added to the pockets if you'd like.  I think this would make an AWESOME gift.   Hmmmmm...I wonder who'll get mine????

Well til later...I have to get going on Easter cards........

Baby Mini Album

Well the mini album madness continues!  LOL  I love making these and recently I have so many reasons to make a few.  First of all a friend of mine just became a grandma for the first time to a little girl.  She is so excited and sad at the same time because they do not live very close....in fact if your from Illinois I believe Alaska is a bit far!  (just a tad).  Then My niece just found out that she is having a girl.  This will make 1 of each for her.  Then my sisters birthday is coming up so I thought...what the heck!  I'll make her a little album but instead of photos I'll use little words of wisdom.  And then of course why not make an interaction one with the Christmas theme!!!   Yep OBSESSED!!!!
So with out further ado.......here's the baby mini album.

I am absolutely in love with this finished album!  I need to make another one for my niece right a way while I'm in the groove!  LOL    Hmmmmm...just had an idea....I never made a welcome baby card for my other niece who just had baby #3 and it's her 1st boy.  He's only a month old so maybe I'll make a baby's 1st Easter album card.   Going to get right on that...well maybe as soon as I write out the measurements for this card so I don't forget.

Well that's it for now and a GREAT weekend!!

Til next time.................

Simple Easter Card

Hello!  What a crazy week.....I'm taking a break from those mini albums to get my cards ready for the Nursing Home Card making session tomorrow.  As many of you know the cards for the home have to be super easy.  Some of these people can't even squeeze the glue bottles so we try to use stickers when possible but still want to have the cards look nice.  I've decided to bring out of the closet an old sizzix die. An Easter Basket.  This is one of the original steel rule dies that I use to use with the Big Red Sizzix die machine.
Look at all those bright colors!!  I embossed the fronts of the bases with the dotted swiss folder and then cut some scallop strips to represent grass.  All the baskets were cut from purple recollections paper and the eggs are stickers from the local Dollar Tree store.  There is a white layer for the inside of the card.  Plain and simple but cute.  Add a little glitter and bling and you have a more "showy" card.
The dark marks on the basket is because the glitter is still drying but I wanted to get this post out tonight.  Sorry about that.

Well busy day tomorrow and I can't wait to get back to my MINI ALBUMS!!

Till later

Mini Flip Album Card

Hello!!!  So I decided to try something new.  I'm calling it the Mini Flip Album Card.  I made this for a friend of mine as a Just Because card.  It's not totally embellished but it's finished enough to share.
Ok so not the best collection of photos!  Lol.....I'm not real good at the photography part of
this.  Anyway the card is a 4x4 and there are numerous flips and pockets.  This was inspired by a video by Robin and can be viewed HERE  She has more page flips because I glued down some of mine to make pockets for little tags with notes on them.  This was actually really fun to make though trying to decide what paper to use where was "Nerve Racking"!!!  LOL  Sometimes I just can't decide and then half way through I find a new color combo I like.  So I'm going to try another one.  This time a little larger.  We'll see what happens!  Until then Check out Robins video and give one of these a try!

Till next time............
