An Easter gift

Good afternoon!!!  I have been racking my brain to figure out something to do with an old photo I found of my niece with my parents.  My parents have long been gone and my niece was only 7 when my mom passed.  My niece is now 20!  My how time flies!  Anyway I found this little wallet size picture of her with them and thought I'd give it to her ...but I can't just hand it to her as is!!!  Heck no I have to embellish!!!!  First of all she doesn't scrapbook (shame on her!  heehee) so a 12 x 12 is out.....she lives in an apartment so you can't hang things on the wall so a regular frame is out.  Then a light bulb went off.
I decided to make a 7x7 board with cardboard and card stock...embellish with flowers and swirls and sort of wedge the picture in between some of the embellishments so she could remove it later if she wanted to.  Then I found one of those giant clothespins at Joanns and decided to use it as an easel to display the 7x7.  Here's what it turned out like:
I'm pretty sure she is going to love this.  She will be here for Easter so I will give it to her then.  I can't wait!
Well Happy Easter to you all...enjoy your weekend!  Until next week...............................

HAPPY CARDING!!

  4. This is so sweet, Susan! I love the color palette - it just burst off the screen, yet lets the photo be the focal point. Yes time does fly indeed - my daughter just turned 21 (funny, I'm only 29 - ahaha - how does that happen?!) Beautiful work - one to keep forever, that's for sure!
