THANK YOU IS VERY BLACK AND WHITE

Black and White.  Normally I do not think of this as a color combination.  I use black and white as base colors for cards or tags.  I've used black or white for backs of sentiments.  But never have I used Black and White as the entire theme.  Now I think if I used it as a theme or inspiration for 1 card it would be a challenge but do able.  But this is me.  I do not do "do able" .  I do, "I'm going to pull my hair out"!  I decided to do a collection of 32 Black and White Thank You tags.  Staying true to "Me" no two are exactly alike.  I do not like repeats because I get bored.  I decided to do this for a friend who is trying to do a baking business.  She likes to add a little thank you with each order and I thought it would be real cute if she had a little homemade tag to put on the order.  Plus I'm up at the cabin with limited supplies so doing a simple tag should be a breeze.  OMG!!!  I never took so long to make 32 little tags ever!  I kept looking at that black and white paper thinking " boy I wish I had some yellow"  or "hmmmm....pink would look awesome here".  But no!  My theme was Black and White.  Stick to it.  I would put some background paper on the tag and then stare out at the lake for 10 minutes trying to think of something black or white to put on it as an embellie.  I would finally figure it out and they all turned out ok but OMG it took me a week to make 32 little tiny tags!  I know my friend is going to like them but deep inside I hope not too much because I don't want to make her any more like them hahahaha.

A little side note here.  As soon as I had these bagged up and my work space cleared from all the Black and White, I pulled out my Christmas stuff again and began more Christmas tags.  Guess what?  I made 24 Christmas tags in 1 day!  Yep!  Can you tell where my passion is ?

Crafting At The Cabin Tags and Sticks?

Hello!  Bet you're expecting a post full of TAGS!  Well guess what?  NOPE!  This time its crafting time.

My sister lives year round 3 lots down from my Summer home and her boys and their families come up frequently during the summer for visits.  Since I live on the lake side they tend to stop by often to use the beach.  Their little ones love playing in the water and I have a huge bucket (basket actually) of sand toys for them to build all sorts of sand castles.  So on one of those weekends my nephew showed up with his wife and 2 girls and decided they were celebrating the youngest ones birthday.  My sister wanted to have an impromptu party which is difficult up there because the nearest Walmart is 23 miles away so it's not like we can just run out and get the stuff we need.  Now my sister knew she was going to do this but didn't tell me until two days prior.  Good grief...I needed a gift!  This area is not really an area that has kids stuff.  Its a touristy area for boating, camping, large resorts, golf resorts, shops pertaining to art, pottery, farmer markets, clothing.  Its the Cape Cod of the Mid West.  And you just cannot find a decent gift for a 6 year old at a grocery store.  lol.  Down the road from us is a Sanctuary.  There are beautiful trails and my children as well as my sisters children have all walked those trails as kids.  Now that they have there own kids, they have taken theirs on these trails.  My son and husband have made walking sticks from fallen trees on our property for each of my grandkids and they earn a special Sanctuary emblem (a challenge we made up to get the grandkids active) to place on their sticks after walking one of the trails.  Thee feathers decorating the sticks are from the gulls that have left them on our beach that we have cleaned and added to the sticks with some pony beads.  So my husband and I decided to make Emi her very own Walking stick.  We bought her the emblem and her dad loved our challenge and will put it on after Emi completes a hike.

I then had to rummage through some scraps to find non-Christmas paper to make some Birthday tags.  Not too shabby for not being prepared. Hahahahaha

Sure hope my sister doesn't make this a habit.  My brain hurt from thinking so hard.
