OOPS........This was suppose to post before the card post. Sorry. I thought I hit the right button...........guess not lol.
Hello again....I'm back with more scraps! As I stated in my last post I have alot of scraps from the baby project I did months ago. I used some of them for the Baby Sampler and then decided that the new mom to be could probably use some Thank You cards too. I saw on Pinterest this cute little box that held cards. So I decided to re-create it for Thank You notes. This went together pretty quickly. Word of caution...use at least 110# card stock for the box. I tried making it originally from regular card stock and it seemed a bit flimsy. Ribbons keep the box closed.
The cards are pretty simple and although you can't really tell I used and embossing folder that said Thank You on the green, gold, and orange strips on the bottom of the cards. Of course the insides are blank for messages. The center squares have been popped up with dimensionals. This box is storing 8 cards and envelopes. It could probably hold 12 cards and envelopes if the fronts were all flat but because of the dimensionals it could only hold 8.
Well the scraps are nearly all gone now. I may be able to make a couple tags but then that's it. Whewwwww...great way to use up a paper pack. This was the 6x6 Echo Park Jungle pack. Who knew it could be stretched this far.
Til next time

JUNGLE SCRAP BABY SHOWER CARD
It's been a JUNGLE in here! lol Trying to get the most from the JUNGLE scraps I had from the baby album made in October. I think I am finally nearing the end. Well maybe...heehee.
Today to go with the Sample and the box of Thank You's I have a Fancy Fold card. I can't remember what this folds "Official" name is but it's a type of Shutter card. I originally made one in Christmas papers two years ago to fit inside a legal size envelope so it was Tall and Skinny.
You can look at it Here
This one is sized for a regular check size envelope. Do those have an actual name? Maybe standard? The envelopes are only about 3.5" wide and 6.25" long about the size of a check or Dollar bill. So the card isn't very big. The base is 8x6 and scored every 2" on both the long and short sides.

This is just perfect to go along with the gift. Well now all I have are some little pieces and I think (4) 6x6 sheets left. Just enough for a few tags maybe for Birthday gifts.
So you will see just a wee bit more of this paper later.

BABY SAMPLER
Well did you survive Christmas?? I know I did. It was absolutely wonderful. Family gathered and I really enjoyed the grandkids running around and watching their excitement as they opened gifts. I had thought I was finally able to put my "Creative Juices" to rest for at least a wee bit. BUT......................
A friend of mine basically at the last minute sent me an invite Christmas Day Eve for a baby shower to be held on Saturday. Yep in 4 days!!! Although I don't mind getting gifts or gift cards for these events I always love to add something a little more personal and homemade. Yikes but I only have 4 days!!
Well previously I had made a Jungle themed baby book for another friend back in the fall and I had alot of scraps from that book. A great way to use alot of little scraps is creating a sample that can be hung on the wall of a nursery. Lucky for me I had a Recollections (from Michael's) printers tray in the craft room. TA DA!!!!!! I had a plan. The sex of the baby is not being announced so it had to be neutral. Jungle is neutral right? So here's what I came up with.
The little sign in the upper left corner didn't show up on camera but it says "Beware Sleep Deprived Parents". The stickers I used were from everywhere...lol. Some are Jolie's, some Recollection's and some Dollar Tree. A few homemade like the banner by the giraffe, the word BABY and the silver stars. The papers were mostly from Echo Park. Now I just need to get it wrapped. Oh and I still have scraps from the scraps so I think I may make her a set of Thank you cards too with the same papers. Just a little added bonus.
Thanks for stopping in.

December Birthday card.
Let it Snow...Let it Snow...Let it Snow!!
I LOVE WINTER!!
But trying to get creative and make a December Birthday card has never been my thing. I always resort back to frilly girly cards in pastels and shimmer paper. Well I decided to be different this time. Its winter...the birthday girl is one of the ladies that will be at our ladies Christmas party so lets do a winter card. What says winter more than SNOWMEN??
So I had this adorable stamp that has no name on it. I'm pretty sure I got it at Hobby Lobby like 8 years ago or so. Here's what I came up with. Though it looks like a fancy fold card it is not.
I love this Navy/ taupe color combo. The card was meant to look a bit like an envelope and I mimicked the outside by pulling the same type of triangle inside too. I think she is going to love it. The card itself is 4.5 x 6 with layer after layer. The snowman was lightly colored with colored pencils and some stickles (hard to see) was added to the swirls on the front.
Easy Peasy!

CRAFT SHOW CHRISTMAS COPY
So right after Thanksgiving my husband and I went to a huge craft show at the county fair grounds. I just love browsing through all the beautifully crafted items, some of which I would never attempt due to the complexity and my lack of patience lol. One of the vendors had lots of wood Christmas items and the one that caught my eye was this barn board with decoupage trees on it. Soooo cute. But I wasn't really in the market for another Christmas decor item so I passed. Until I got home and all I could do was think about this board. Well....yep...I had to try and re-create it from memory. I had a board from a previous project that I never completed and I thought I could just pain over it. So I did. The original board was black with some other colors added to make it look more like a night sky. I gesso's over it in white and liked that it looked more like a greyish white. I then hand cut out s few trees and got out the mod podge. Laid them on and mod podged over the entire board. But..........a slight pinkish hue started to show up. YIKES!!!! Maybe I could camouflage it with some clear Twinkle Glitter paint. Uhhhhhh....no. Made it pinker! Oh well but now I'm kind of liking it. Drum roll please.........................
I used a Tim Holtz die for the Merry Christmas. This board is about 12" x 20". The trees are cut out of 12x12 paper and are 12" tall not including the trunks. I think I will do this again but with new boards. Next year though....no time in my world for this year.

MAD DASH TO CHRISTMAS
OMG...this month has been insane. There were some health issues in my family followed by lack of shopping for Christmas gifts and virtually no blogging. That being said has led me to a back up of Christmas sharing. So this is going to be a catch up post.
Where to start??? Guess we will do some G45's. My all time favorite papers for the season. Ok my all time favorites all year long! These 3 cards are pretty simple. I use one of the sheets that have 4x6 post card type drawings. These are so easy to just mat and put on the front of a card and then just add a bit of bling and glitter.
All the insides were done the same so it was easy to slap them together. All the little extras like the stamps and tags and some of the flowers were popped up for a dimensional effect.
Next are some cards that I did for the Ladies group I'm in. We are having our Christmas party this Sunday and of course each of my special ladies must have a special card. Here are the ones I did for them
The one on the left is a Z fold and again I'm using my G45 papers. The pop up card in the front is the new line of G45 Christmas papers. The middle back card I really love and it was super easy by making this belly band as the embellishment. Here's a peek of the inside..
Its called a Flag fold card and is a great way to use all those little stamp images G45 has in their collections. The far right card is also a fancy fold card too by Polly's Paper Studio.
SEEN HERE. So much fun to make. Front gets untied to reveal a small flip up.
The when opened there is a place for a tag or gift card on the left and on the right another flip up. Isn't this adorable? And yes more G45 papers. I sort of mixed and matched all these papers as they go so well with one another.
I am extremely pleased will all of these. I can't wait til the ladies get to see their cards. Oooo...and their gifts. Which I will have to share later so I don't spoil the surprise.
More Christmas to come!

CHRISTMAS BOX
Happy December everyone. Can you believe it? Christmas is almost here and I bet alot of you are scrambling just like me to get everything done.
Earlier I saw an article about a Christmas Eve Box. I thought "What a great idea"! My grand kids would love it. But you know me I have to take it 1 step further. Mine is just going to be called a Christmas Box. Next year I will have a much better box, but for this year I have to use what I have. So what did I have? A wine tote box. Yep it originally held 4 bottles from a winery up in Door County Wisc. I didn't want to go too crazy on the decorating of the box because this is a 1 time thrifty use so I just covered the sides that had the winery name on it.
I then got started. Everything in the box is for an activity for the kids to do as the big day approaches. For example....I put in a couple craft kits from Michael's and a few homemade craft kits. I just put them into clear bags and made a topper for the bag. Ingredients for reindeer food and recipe to make it as well as snowman soup. Some popcorn for a snack night, Color sheets that are also the letters to send to Santa. A special letter from Santa was included as well as an activity calendar.

The grand kids are so excited for the holidays that I thought this would help their mom and dad from going crazy with the "Is it Christmas yet?" As you can see not all the days are filled in. I mean you need a little breather right? I'm really liking this idea and cant wait to start designing the one for next year. I will definitely be more organized and I would like to give the box to the kids by December 1st.
Well that's all for now.

Simple Embossed Cards
Black and White....White on White .....both sophisticated! I love that it can look elegant or it could be bold. Its a never fail combination. Which is why people use it for Wedding cards, Graduation cards, Sympathy cards, Birthday cards. So at our ladies group night we made a set of Black and White and White on White everyday cards.
The die used was from Fun Stampers Journey. It was called Spring Bloom Minis. I am not sure where the embossing folder came from. I am sure you could use any flower folder and any flower die or punch and create this same look.

This is how they turned out and of course I wanted to bling them up a bit more when I got home so added some bling to the white one. These are great to keep in your stash for that emergency need of a card. Just add a sentiment of choice, sign and mail. Great for Birthday, sympathy, Get Well, Miss You.....you get the idea.

Star Ornaments and Squash books for Christmas
Well I sit here in frustration. I just typed this entire post...hit a button and BOOM GONE! So I need to start over. Don't you just hate when that happens?
So today I'm going to try and share the Star ornaments and Squash Books that I made while I was up north closing my summer place for the winter season.
The Star ornaments are so quick and easy. I've posted them before and you can see them here I think it's in the middle of that post. Anyway I made a few more and I'm going to be using them as gift tags. Then the recipient can open it up and place it on the tree.
Stars on on the left and the 2 Halloween ones on the right are Squash cards.
Here are the Stars opened. I forgot to take a picture of the backs but I stamped a To & From on the backs so that they could be used as tags.
Sorry....I was at the cabin when I took the pictures and had nowhere other than the picture frame to hang them from.
My sister requested a few of these so I'll be busy whipping out a few more. I think it's a great idea for tags.
Now the Squash books.....directions for these are all over the Internet. They are all basically made the same way. If you want directions just let me know. These I did for Halloween as cards for the grandkids and grand nieces and nephews. Super cute and the 7-10 yr olds really liked just looking at all the do-dads.
Here's some that are going to be for Christmas but I haven't done the insides yet.
Well that's it for today. But of course I'll be back. Til then..........................

MayMay Made it and so Did I Corner fold
Right in time for Christmas my favorite blogger MayMay showed us all how to do the Corner fold card. So quick and easy. Though she makes it look easier when she just grabs whatever paper she has and goes for it. So I decided that while watching the video I'd just grab pieces from my scrap box and put the card together as I go. Well................First off not all papers should be combined with other papers. Even though I thought it would be ok (after all MayMay said she was out of her comfort zone by combing so many patters and colors on 1 card) Somehow I don't think I pulled it off. But here we go.
And here are the easy peasy directions.
The card base is made from Double sided Designer paper. Make sure you find at least one other coordinated DSP as well as a piece of solid card stock for middle light enough for stamping on.
1 3" x 3" scrap for a template write "TOP" on the top of the square.
from top left corner measure down 5/8" and make a tick mark then from bottom right corner measure in toward left 5/8" and make a tick mark.
1 Double sided DSP 8.5" x 5.5" scored in center
1 4" x 5.25" layer DSP
1 3"x 4.25" solid card stock
Take the designer piece and fold for the card. Place the template in the top right corner of the card and draw a faint line from the tick mark down on the left side of template and then from the tick mark over to meet up with first line. You will then cut on the lines making a little flap. For directions I am using just plain card stock.
Oooopppsss.......just noticed the stripe dsp is upside down. the dimensions for this piece is 4 x 5.25. This is for the inside panel.
Now just have fun decorating. I've seen some people use solid card stock in place of DSP for base so with my above sample I turned it into this:
I really love this Paper Pad by Prima. I think I bought it over a year ago at Hobby Lobby and it has such beautiful papers in it. This particular pad is called Lavender and like I said it is by Prima Marketing Inc. I will definitely use alot more of this line. Wish I had more fall winter birthdays that I need cards for but I guess the paper will have to wait til spring.
I really like this fold and need to work on a better (MUCH BETTER LOL) Christmas card because frankly that first one stunk! But I am one who will share my bad as well as my good. Lucky you heeheehee!
Fall festival season is here for us so I will be spending some quality time with the grandkids. So excited to watch them enjoying all the fun activities of fall.

Fancy Fold Encouragement Card
I have often thought of Random Acts of kindness. Sometimes I have passed on some homemade soup to a Elderly woman I know or I have paid for someone in lines coffee. I've sent cards to unknown soldiers or I've dropped off some piping hot breads to a neighbor. Right now a friend of mine has a friend that is going through a difficult time. My friend has a heart of gold and has put aside her own needs to help her friend. Its always hard when someone has to go through illness's, death, depression etc by ones self and to have someone willing and caring reach out is a blessing. My friend is that blessing for her friend. I had decided that I would like to send her friend just a little card to say "You are not alone".
I used the style of my previous baby card as a starting point. But changed it up just a tad so that I could provide you with a few more details on the making of the card.
Here's the finished card:
I guess you could call this a pop out gate fold card. The center band is a separate piece of card stock glued on the left 2" of the gate fold. Then the end 2" of the band is glued to the *8" fold line. To close you would fold in the right side of the card first then the left.
The base is 5.5" x 12 scored at 2", 4', 8", and 10". The band is 1" x 8" scored at 4" and 6".
DSP needed is (4) 1 7/8" x 5.25" and (1) 3 7/8" x 5.25" (1) 7/8" x 3 7/8" and (2) 7/8 x 1 7/8" That will get you the basics for the card and the decorating is up to you.
I also wanted to make my friend a little card too so I chose another Fancy fold. It's pretty much my style to do fancy folds lol. This is a card seen on Maymay Made it. Not really sure what the fold was called but it was oh so simple to make. I'll post the directions later as a Christmas card. I wanted my friend to know how wonderful I think she is. She has endured her own obstacles and yet finds time to help others.
Paper was from Kaiser craft for this card and the first card the papers were from Prima Marketing. I didn't use any dies though I did use my tag punch for the first card and my We R Memories Keepers Punch board for the Be Brave strip.
Well I want to get these in the mail. That's all for now............til next time

Jungle Baby card
Hello!!! Welcome to the Jungle! A very dear friend of mine is becoming a grandma for the 1st (kind of) time. Her son is to become a father. He has been practicing since the mother to be has an 18 month old little boy right now and she is due with his first in the beginning of October. Everyone is very excited. My ladies group put together a Jungle scrapbook for the new Grandma. We used that theme because the theme for the shower is all Jungle. I personally am very sad that I won't be able to attend but I was able to help in the building of the diaper cake this weekend. Oh what fun that was! Cindy and I hot glued, paper punched and decorated while June and Karen rolled the diapers for us. I have no idea how many diapers we used but this is what we came up with.
So adorable for a centerpiece if that's how it will all be used. Or Marilyn may just scatter them all around the room. The ladies promised me pictures from the shower next week.
Cindy and I worked on a card for the shower gift too. We started with the base already cut. I had tried the new fold at home before showing up at her house. I said "Ok...here's a jungle green card with some gold leopard border on it now lets put our heads together and figure out how to decorate the rest." Well TA DA......here it is...........
The brownish papers are from Echo Park, the animals are a die...not sure of brand because they are not mine. The tree is a sticker. Cindy cut off the backs of Brads for the little embellies on the gold border and our sentiment is attached to corrugated card stock. There was a blank tan piece attached to the back for signing.
Now back to the card. I'm not taking credit for this one though this is my version. The card is called a DOUBLE GATEFOLD POP-UP card. The original I found HERE I did not purchase the tutorial she has but if you'd like it you can see it there. My own pieces may have fit better if I had used her tutorial but you know me I love a challenge.
Well that's all for now.
Til next time.......................

Star Card with a Twist.
Hello!! This card is popping up all over the Internet. Most of the tutorials are done in German making it a bit confusing for this American Girl! Well if you seek Ye shall find! But not all have full instructions or they are in Cm's instead of inch's or there are 2 different ways for the base and the fronts to fit together or there is large sized ones and small sized ones. So after some fiddling I think I have what you need to follow along and make one of these beauties.
We are making the small one which when finished standing measures 5.5 x 5.25".
You don't need alot of supplies either.
1 piece solid card stock for base measuring 6" x 5"
1 piece double sided DSP measuring 5.75" x 4.75"
Embellishment of choice for center of front (varies with occasions)
Along 6" side score and fold at 3". Then open and cute from the 3" mark to bottom left and bottom right corners to make a triangle with score mark in middle. Save the 2 side pieces for front.
With the DSP having the 5.75" side at top of trimmer cut at 2 5/8" then with each half cut diagonally. See pic below.
Arrange DSP on base pieces and glue down. DSP will need to have 2 of the pieces flipped so make sure you are using double sided DSP.
After base has pieces on fold along score line and make a tick mark 2" (3 1/4" for larger card)up from the slanted side with straight folded side lined up on a grid to make sure it is straight. Then from this tick mark make a 3/4" (1 1/2") cut straight down. As seen below.
Sounds confusing but if you have the folded end lined straight and the wider bottom part up against the top of your trimmer measure down 2" and place tick. Hope this makes sense.
Now with the 2 front pieces place together on angle until you are satisfied. A small "W" will form at the bottom. When you are satisfied glue the 2 pieces together.
Now Just slide the front piece into the slits of the back piece!
CUTE!!! Now add your embellies and your done! This will fit in a 5.5" square envelope.
Here's one done with larger pieces. The base starts at 9 x 6 3/8" and then the 2 pieces of DSP would be 4.25 x 6 and just follow the same directions above for assembly.
I believe this card requires a 6 x 6" envelope. They are so cute and easy I just may be making a few more soon.
Til next time...........

A little early Halloween craft.
So I have often admitted to my addiction to Pinterest. LOVE it! I pin and pin and pin. I don't often make what I pin though. These last 2 weeks I spent my time relaxing at my summer cottage. In advance I sent my sister, who live up there full time just across the street from me, 2 pics of a fun Fall craft. We would be in need of corks and wine bottles. She just so happens to have friends up there that run a local bar. To my surprise when I showed up she handed me a bowl of corks and 2 wine bottles and said "Ok I did my part! Your turn" lol. Well I was ready for her even though I did not think she would actually remember the corks or bottles. I have packed a craft bag with all the needs for the projects. While our hubby's tended the smoker of ribs, we plugged in glue guns and got out the paints.
I have no idea why I smiled so stupidly maybe I was distracted by the Packers jersey! LOL Anyway we had so much fun. Gabbing, gluing, painting......Here are our creations.
My sisters friend will have the luck of enjoying a couple of these since she got us the corks. I'm giving the small one and one of the larger ones to my daughter in law for her mantle. I'll be making one for me with my ladies group later.
And Here are the Scarecrows. OMG I'm in love with these guys!
My sister constructed the hats...complaining all the way! LOL It was getting close to "Wine" time for her...heehee.
I do believe we can call these a Pinterest success!! Both projects are awesome and I can't wait to re-create them with my group.
Well I think it's time to surf Pinterest again for another fall project that my sister and I can do when I go up next month!
Till then HAPPY CARDING!

FRIDAY CRAFT DAY
Halloween is around the corner and I had decided to share the lantern project with friends. There were 4 of us this past friday and we met up at 1pm and crafted, ate, and gabbed until midnight! We had a ton of fun and bloops to boot. On our "To Do" list was re-creating MayMay's paper lanterns seen on my previous post here....http://ladyslipperway.blogspot.com/2018/07/tealight-lantern.html So a real simple project was a bit complicated only due to our constant gabbing and forgetting where we were at in the project. Lots of giggling...heehee. Anyway here's what we came up with. First the fronts.............
and the backs............
We then finished up on the 4 re-purposed Christmas cards that I also had on a previous post seen here....http://ladyslipperway.blogspot.com/2018/08/more-re-purposed-christmas-cards.html and here.......http://ladyslipperway.blogspot.com/2018/08/a-blue-christmas.html Check them out.
Another card was designed by one of the other ladies. Very cute birthday card using some Stampin Up DSP. I'm not sure but it might be discontinued but if not grab some because its really cute paper for birthdays.
The rest of the evening was eating and talking...so much fun. Always good time when we ladies get together.
Bye til next time...............................
HAPPY CARDING

A Blue Christmas
Its time for another recycle project. I did one a ways back and have found an opportunity to do it again. A friend of mine was having her office relocated and the company was discarding alot of stuff. Some of which just so happened to be some note cards and envelopes. Envelopes can always be re-used just by placing a label over the old address. The note cards............well I just shoved them in a corner. They needed a little more thought.
Today I pulled those out so I could come up with a simple and relatively flat Christmas card. Ones with little or no dimensions so that when mailing there needn't be extra postage. I'm a bling kind of person as I've said before. I love layers and tend to get carried away. LOL Instead today I have 2 very simple recycled note card Christmas cards.
Here's another picture with the blank card in front of the new card.
As you can see the navy card already had the gold trim line on it and I decided to let it stay instead of covering it. I used some white linen paper for the snow hills which were dies from a crafting magazine from a few years ago. I bought the galaxy Star paper at Hobby Lobby yesterday. The other card I had used some navy linen cardstock and then used my stitched ovals. Winter wishes is actually 2 word dies from a Sizzix card die set. I think its a gate fold snowflake card die.
Well that's it for now. I think I'm going to slap a few more of these together to add to my Christmas card pile.

HALLOWEEN AND CHRISTMAS TEALIGHT LANTERNS
Well I was able to get a few more Tealight Lanterns completed. I really can't wait until I can get some real cute doublesided cardstock and make a few more. As I said before they are really easy to make and MayMay makes it so easy with her video which you can find a link to on my previous post. So with out further a do ....................
I even decorated the tealights that are inside. Not easy to see in this view but I did take a close up to share.
I changed up each tealight just to show the variety of ways to decorated them. Sequins, beads, tiny flowers, flower flock etc. Possibilities are endless.
