Hurry Christmas is coming!

I can't believe June is nearly over and that I am not in full speed Christmas card making!  Are you??  I also haven't update this blog in awhile either.  Shame on me!  In my defence my hubby and I just got back from a road trip.  We went to Hannibal Mo. and saw all the touristy stuff on Mark Twain.  Then headed to Kansas for a surprise visit to my brother and his family.  From there it was Nebraska to Lied Lodge where the founder of Arbor Day is from.  My husband adores trees and is an Arborist himself so it seemed appropriate to go visit there.  Once we got back I have been playing catch up.  Caught up with my crafty stamping friends, caught up with some volunteer craft classes at the local nursing home I go to with my friend June.  Tended to my garlic garden and visits with the grandkids.  In between I got very little done in the way of cards but for today I do have two for you.

I figured it was time to start using more of what I have (which is what I hope to do with all the cards I shall be working on in the next few weeks)
Both of these cards are bigger than the usual 4.25 x 5.5 that I make.  These are 5 x 7's.  The one on the right I had finally used a stamp set that I think I got in 2012 in the Cardmaking and Papercrafting that I get from the UK.  Ok .....I know...I'm a little slow!!  I should have used this ages ago..it is so Darn Cute!  I put "Dash" marks around both solid white mats because I really didn't like how plain they looked.
The second card I used some white shimmer paper and a Anna Griffin embossing folder.  The Merry Christmas paper was a sheet from a Christmas paper pack from Hobby Lobby that I picked up a few years ago.  I wasn't thrilled with the stamped image though.  I like the image just not the ink.  The red would not get dark enough and I only had clear embossing powder and that only made it shiny.  The card is passable though.

Well that's it for now.  I know I didn't go into too much detail here so if you have any questions just ask and I'll get you the answer.  Till later

HAPPY CARDING!
