So I'm pretty sure many of you have seen Maymay Made It you tube videos. I just love that girl and her ideas are fabulous. So about 2 weeks ago ( I need to find the link) she had these adorable Scarecrows she made to put over lollipops. They don't require a lot of supplies either. Here's the first one I made for my sample.
You need a piece of paper 1 3/4" x 6" scored at 3" any solid fall color
2 pieces 3/4" x 1 3/4" dark gold for straw hair
1. 2 1/4" scallop circle double sided falling pattern for a hat.
1. 1 3/4" circle in a cream color
1. 1/2" scallop circle can be gold to be turned into a sunflower for hat
Black stickles, thin black marker, Orange color pencil
Maymays Pun kin head stamp set ( or you could draw your own faces)
Lollipops any flat kind will work.
Twine
You can watch Maymays video HERE You'll want to watch for details as I will just be giving you basics.
Fold the long solid piece in half on score line. Using either a ticket
punch or a large hole punch clip each corner.
Any corner clip would do actually. Use what you have as they will still turn out cute.
On the cream circle draw or stamp the face. With large scallop isolate 3 scalloped and cut doen about 1/2" on either side. Then 2 scallops away from cut you will remove those 2 by cutting to 1st cut line forming a hat top shape. Best to see video. Then roll the brim up and glue. On 2 small dark gold pieces fringe the long side on both pieces. Attach both across bottom of the hat brims back side with glue. When set attach with glue to the face.
As pieces dry you can make the loopy bow from the twine. The sun flower can also be made by cutting to center between 2 scallops and gluing 1 scallop to the one next to it. A dot of black stickles was used for center. But a sequin or tiny button can also be used or maybe even seed beads if you have those. Glue flower to side of hat and bow to bottom side of face. When all is dry, glue face to folded cardstock piece. Place a sucker inside and glue bottom shut.
Here's some variations I have done. First I made score lines in both directions to give body more texture. The one on the right I used a crimper for. Detail lines wth fine tip marker added to face, hat and flower. I also punched a small hole in middle of the fold on the body so my suckers slide in from the bottom and I glue the top closed instead.
Have fun...they are so cute. To speed up time you could use hot glue but I didn't want to mess with the glue spider webs lol.

TOILET PAPER ROLL PUMPKINS
Happy Fall Y'all! Well ok almost lol but I sure have Fall in my mind. Here up at the cabin our temps are much cooler than down home. The leaves are just starting to turn and all the different Fall Fests are lined up to begin. Starting tomorrow is Harvest Fest and then every weekend after that it's fest after fest after fest! I love love love fall. Crafting for fall is so much fun too and I decided to start with adorable toilet paper pumpkins and small fabric stuffed pumpkins.
Adorable right? There are a ton of tutorials on line for both so I won't go into major detail but briefly here's what I did.
For the toilet paper one I found the easiest and cheapest way to go is with toilet paper from the Dollar Tree. You can get 4 pumpkins for a buck! Great deal! So take a roll and squish it from the top down. The tube is real thin in these rolls making it easy to squish. This helps it not look too much like a roll of toilet paper. Then place the roll in the center of a 16x16 inch square of material. I picked up 9 yards at a flea market for like $3. Yep I'm thrifty. Then start stuffing the corners into the center, adjust it a bit and then grab a stick from the yard for the stem. If you want to use the toilet paper after fall then just stick the stick in the center or if intentions are to store it till next year (like me) add a bit of hot glue to center before adding stick. Dollar Tree also has packages of fall leaves so I placed some around my stick and added a jute bow. Super cute. I want to see if I can find large enough napkins to try this project again. This would look so cute on the toilet tank for a fall decoration don't you think?
For the smaller one I cut a circle (I used a charger plate for a template) sewed a running stitch around the edges then pulled thread tight. Before tieing it off I stuffed it with polyfil. Then I took jute and wrapped the outside to create pumpkin sections. Again got a stick for the center, added leaves and a jute bow.
These are going to be projects for my crafting weekend with friends next week but I'll try it first with my non crafty sister tomorrow. If she can do it anyone can. Lol I'm also going to do this with my niece in 2 weeks. She wanted to spend some quality time with me (so sweet) and this would be a great project to do while sipping a little wine and chit chatting. Maybe I'll have found napkins by then for her. Hmmmm😁
Hope you enjoyed this project and I'll post more pictures when I get them of how the others turned out.

HALLOWEEN SHUTTER CARD
Halloween will soon be here and it's time we all start thinking of our Halloween cards. I for one love sending the grandkids a little card. This year however I have been so busy and time keeps flying. I don't even remember what has kept me so busy but lately its a bath remodel up at our summer place. I've also been busy crafting. Trying different things and it has seemed to knock my card making over to the sidelines. But never fear........there are a bunch of super simple and super quick cards that can be whipped together in no time.
Start by using the Spellbinders Happy Days card die to cut out your base. You can get the die on Amazon for a reasonable price HERE. I love this die for super quick cards. Then just grab some designer paper and go for it. This card is also good for scraps. I'm going to whip up a few more and then I can concentrate on some crafts I'm trying to get done. Maybe I'll post them later.

Loaded Halloween Pocket
Oh my goodness where did the months of July and August go? Summer has been so busy for us that I have barely had time to craft. I mean I was able to get some crafting done with the grandkids and some Tye Dyeing with my sister but papercrafting???? Well that ha taken a back seat. I should also add that we have been revamping our summer cabin too so I have been decorating...kinda if you call replacing floors and carpet and painting walls decorating lol.
A while ago I was making loaded pockets and I absolutely love making these. I have randomly passed out the small ones to either a very kind waitress, or the mail lady etc. I have been facebook friends with one woman who just happens to live up where my summer place is. We have never really met in person but this last time I was up there she suggested we meet up in October and finally craft together. I wanted to give her a small token and decided a Halloween themed loaded pocket would be super cute. The main pocket is made with 1 12x12 sheet of Graphic 45 Halloween in Wonderland. I think this line was discontinued but I'm not sure. Anyway here's the pocket empty.
Isn't that a cute little piece of candy corn? Easy peasy to make it too. Just get your 3 colors cut 3 circles One that is 2" diameter, a 2 3/4 diameter and a 3 1/4 diameter. Stack them together and glue . Then cut the stacked circle in half and continue cutting the halves like pie pieces. You should be able to get 8 pieces. So so cute. Anyway............I then made a bunch of tags, a few pokes, some little embellies and then bagged a few die cuts and ribbons.
I'm hoping she's going to really like these. I am so proud of myself...I used only scraps! Yep didn't have to buy a thing. The only full sheet of paper I used was to construct the main pocket. To be honest I didn't even know that I had so much Halloween stuff. Ok time to stuff the pockets......................................
TA DA!!!!!!
I think I'm going to make a few more of those mini pockets with the other Halloween paper I have and stuff it with packets of apple cider. So stay tune those may be coming up soon.

More Fancy Fold Envelope Cards
Spending time up at the lake with limited supplies but i was still able to get some cards done. Today's post will just be pictures of completed cards. You can go to my previous post for more information on how to make these simple cards using plain legal envelopes. Post is located
I brought quite a few envelopes up to the lake and boy I'm glad I did. We have had a lot of rainy days up here so it really helped pass the time. These 2 were made with miscellaneous papers I had around from years ago. They were all loose sheets so I don't have a collection name for you. As you can see you can just choose a few papers with similar colors and it'll work.
I haven't put anything on the insides yet. Both of these are BIRTHDAY cards. Top picture is closed bottom picture is open.
I have some more Graphic 45 paper that I think I'm going to make a few more. But I think I'll wait for another rainy day. Right now it's calming just listening to the waves.

More loaded Pockets
Hello. Is it sunny by you yet? We have had our share of cloudy days here in the mid-west. I see on the first full day of summer Colorado had some snow. Oh my! At least our temps have gone up and finally are in the 80's but its humid with all the rain. So what does one do during all these rainy days? You craft. And what better craft than making loaded pockets. I won't take time to tell you how to make them. You can go to my post with simple instructions HERE
This time I decided they needed to be stuffed with more generic things. The first batch I made would be great for another crafter with the little embellies in them but when I really thought about it to give them out randomly maybe they should have something else. So I decided that these would be stuffed with 3 inspirational tags, a few mini envelopes with little notes inside and a flavor pack for a water bottle or a small chocolate.
Each pocket also has a little magnet attached to the backs so they could be put on a refrigerator just as something pretty. I bagged them in cello bags from the Dollar Tree and used scrap cardstock to staple them shut. A stamp I found from Joanns way back was absolutely perfect. The sentiment said exactly what I wanted to express. I can't wait to start handing these out. But first I need to do some bagging. lol For sure I will be doing alot of these. How cute for Halloween? Oh and Christmas! Oh my........I am going to be busy for sure. Good thing I have my Christmas cards done!

Fancy fold Birthdays
Hi everybody. It still isn’t summer here in the Midwest. Up at the lake it’s quite chilly at 52 degrees. Feels a little bit more like fall. But it’s sunny and comfy on the porch. A few post ago I made a fancy fold fathers day card. I so loved the easiness of this card that I decided to make a few more. While up at the lake I have limited space and limited supplies. The nearest craft store is an hour and a half away. The nearest LSS is 35 min away so I really have to use what I have on hand. During the summer while here I need a few birthday cards so this one is perfect. First up are 2 masculine cards.
Next I needed a few girly cards so I used the same fancy fold and girly'd it up. Hmmmm…is that a word? Lol.
All of these were made with Graphic 45 papers. For the guy cards I used Communique Collection and Good ‘Ol Sport collection. Both were from 2013 and I believe they are both retired. For the girly cards I used Time to Flourish collection from 2014. This might still be available. You can check out graphic45.com for availability of all current collections.
I am a big fan of G45 and their collections are a perfect choice for my cabin creating space.
